1st aid course, competition, and cancelled hackathon
Kia ora,
This is going to be a short one because I have a busy weekend lined up and I’m writing this one on the morning of.
I have a 1st aid course to attend this morning (Saturday) in order to maintain my optometry registration (yes, I paid for it and the annual practising certificate as well). I will also need to deal with CPD points somehow too.
On the day of this, I will be doing a weightlifting competition in Hamilton just to get some numbers to qualify for the North Islands. So far, the weightlifting journey has not been too great. I’ve been coming back from injuries and feeling pretty weak in general. On top of that, I’m trying to lose weight and get in shape to “feel” better about myself. And I’m going Jiu-jitsu as well, so can’t expect too much from the body, but it’s still good to get under the bar.
Next weekend, I’m a bit sad, but the in-person hackathon that had been planned got postponed to a later date. They didn’t get enough registrations. I’m a bit guttered because I was looking forward to it! Anyway, I did talk to the organiser and I got some tentative mentoring sessions from it, which is a bonus.
Instead of the hackathon, I’ve booked my first flight lesson or trial flight, so I’m excited about this. Back in 2016, I tried to learn to fly microlights. Hopefully, this time around I can keep it up and get my Private Pilot’s license.
I hope you have a good week coming up.
Stay focused,
Shivan
